You’re not seeing things – it’s meant to look that way. Honda is resurrecting the Motocompacto, a charming all-electric rideable inspired by the short-lived Honda Motocompo scooter from the ’80s, and surprisingly, it’s turning heads.

When folded, the Motocompacto resembles one of those foldable tables you might find at a store like Costco, complete with tiny aluminum wheels peeking out from underneath.
To transform it into a scooter, you simply extend the handlebars, seats, and back wheel, and you’re ready to ride something that vaguely resembles a bicycle. (For reference, this quirky ride is just a tad over three feet in length.)

Once you’ve exhausted that 12-mile range, it takes 3.5 hours to recharge, which may seem like a while, but it does come with an onboard charger that’s compatible with a standard 110V outlet.
