Apple is rumored to be on the verge of unveiling a revamped Magic Keyboard for its iPad Pro lineup, accompanied by the highly anticipated launch of two new iPad Pro models in 2024. These forthcoming devices are set to feature the unreleased M3 chip and OLED screens, marking a significant leap in iPad Pro hardware, the first of its kind in six years.

In his latest Power On newsletter dated September 3, tech expert Mark Gurman spilled the beans on Apple’s plans. According to Gurman, the revamped Magic Keyboard will make its grand entrance next year, perfectly synchronized with the debut of the new iPad Pro models. What sets this keyboard apart is its enhanced trackpad, designed to offer users a more Mac-like experience. But that’s not all; Apple is taking things a step further with a comprehensive overhaul. For the first time in Magic Keyboard history, the top case surrounding the keyboard will be crafted from aluminum, aligning seamlessly with the aesthetic of current Mac laptops.

Despite this material shift, Gurman reassures us that the change in weight will be negligible. However, the use of premium materials may potentially nudge the accessory’s price upward. Currently, the Magic Keyboard for the 11-inch iPad Pro retails for $349, while its 12.9-inch counterpart is priced at $399.
The updated Magic Keyboard is poised to make its debut alongside the 2024 iPad Pro. These models, expected to sport OLED displays measuring 11 inches and 13 inches, are rumored to be announced in the latter half of the year. Gurman’s report also hints at Apple potentially unveiling refreshed iPad Air or iPad mini models before ushering in the next generation of iPad Pro devices.
