While Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series was the initial beneficiary of the One UI 6 beta, it was widely anticipated that the Galaxy S22 lineup and the new Flip/Fold devices would follow suit in receiving the beta Android 14 firmware. However, Samsung sprung a surprise last week by releasing the One UI 6 beta for the Galaxy A54, much to the chagrin of eager Galaxy S22 owners. Adding to the unexpected move, Samsung has now initiated the One UI 6 beta program for the Galaxy A34.

Similar to the Galaxy S23’s One UI 6 beta, the Android 14 beta testing for the A34 and A54 is expected to expand to more regions in the coming weeks, likely alongside the release of a new beta build.
One UI 6 introduces several enhancements and changes. The Quick Settings panel has been overhauled with new and more informative tiles. Samsung has revamped the Camera app with updated, user-friendly iconography.
Additional changes encompass a new system font, updated emojis, a redesigned Weather app with reduced ads, an improved Share menu, new privacy features, and increased customization options. You can explore more about the top new features in One UI 6 here.

The Galaxy A34 falls within Samsung’s budget-friendly smartphone category, making it all the more surprising to see its One UI 6 beta rolling out before premium Galaxy devices. Nevertheless, if you are the proud owner of a Galaxy A34 and are eager to experience Samsung’s Android 14 flavor, this is your chance. Join the beta program to explore all the new features in One UI 6, and be sure to report any bugs you encounter to contribute to their resolution before the public release.
To put things in perspective, last year, Samsung included the Galaxy A52 in its One UI 5 beta program in late September. With Android 14, however, the company has managed to expedite the timeline by a few weeks. Furthermore, more of its mid-range devices are getting a taste of the upcoming Android build ahead of its official release.
It’s worth noting that Android 14 for Pixel devices may face delays, as Google is reportedly planning to unveil it alongside the Pixel 8 series and Pixel Watch 2 at its Made by Google event on October 4th. This move allows Samsung to narrow the gap between the public rollout of One UI 6 and the release of Android 14 to just a few weeks.
